Journal Square

Full of grand homes and unique architecture.

Welcome to Journal Square

The historic, bustling community surrounding Lincoln Park

A bustling historic neighborhood, Journal Square is full of grand homes and unique architecture. Lush green surrounds bracket the neighborhood thanks to Lincoln Park, and the short commute to New York City means residents never want for nature or city life. Journal Square offers both a historic atmosphere and a lively day-to-day experience—the best of both worlds.

Several different areas comprise the neighborhood; the West Side and Doctor’s Row are full of large Victorian homes set on the wide streets near Lincoln Park, and McGinley Square has charming townhomes amidst historical landmarks. Journal Square continues to grow with new restaurants and shopping popping up all the time, but all the while it maintains its age-old charm.

Things to Do

Historic and bustling all at once, Journal Square offers everyone activity.

Steps from many of the most beautiful homes in Journal Square, Lincoln Park is the crown jewel of this sought-after neighborhood. After opening in 1905, it’s remained a mainstay for locals for over a century, thanks to its many amenities like tennis, basketball courts, a running track, playgrounds, and a splash pad for summer months. Elevated by stunning views, miles of trails, and rare bird sightings, the park jumps to new levels because of the 9-hole public Skyway Golf Course

What’s more, residents can check our MANA Contemporary Art Gallery for excellent art, or many other museums around the area. Other great options include the ornate Landmark Lowe’s Jersey Theater, India Square, which splits the difference between Journal Square and Marion Section, plus the Journal Square Green Market.

Transportation to New York City

Journal Square has its own PATH station, which offers direct access to NYC; ending at either 33rd St or The World Trade Center. It makes stops in Downtown JC, Hoboken, and up the lower west side of Manhattan. It’s also easy to have a car in this area, as you can get into Manhattan in less than 30 min via the Holland Tunnel. The bus is an option as well! Simply hop on the line 119 bus or head over to a ferry to make your morning commute even easier.
