Though there are many incredible parks in the neighborhood, like Berry Lane and Lafayette Parks, Liberty State Park is the focal point. Stretching along the waterfront, with beautiful views of the Statue of Liberty and the Manhattan skyline beyond, it’s perfect for a morning run or a weekend afternoon outing.
 
The Liberty Science Center is nestled right outside the park, elevating the whole area from simply a great excursion to an all-encompassing educational pinnacle of culture in the community. The Liberty Science Center’s unique structure gives way to a planetarium, many exhibits, plus educational—but entertaining—films.
 

Transportation to New York City

Life in Bergen-Lafayette may be peaceful and protected from the hustle and bustle of major city life, but you don’t have to sacrifice one for the other thanks to the neighborhood’s excellent location. Barely a thirty-minute drive from Manhattan, public transportation makes that trip even shorter. Simply stroll to the nearby PATH station, hop on the light-rail, or head to a ferry.
